Aubrey (Bruce) Haltom, 69, of Dover passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Union Hospital.

He was born in Dallas Texas on August 6th, 1952 to the late Aubrey Benny and Tressie (Langley) Haltom and on April 7th, 1973 married Retha Frank. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Alice Wynett and Audrey Wynell.

He was the pastor of Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ and many other churches throughout his life. In his younger years, he worked in construction and enjoyed many hands on projects. His passion in life was to serve God and be a vessel in spreading his love wherever he went.

He graduated from Vennard Bible College in Iowa in 1975 and obtained his Masters of Divinity at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City in 1984.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 5 children, Jeremy Haltom, Meredith Mote, Corey Haltom, Brooke Tulk and Matthew Haltom; 6 grandchildren include, Dakotah Mote (21), Asher Mote (19), Sawyer Mote (17), Carter Mote (16), Kaiden Tulk (8) and Natalie Tulk (7); 2 brothers, Michael (Fred) Haltom and Jerald Cotton.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Mabank, TX. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help fund Dakotah Mote in furthering his ministry education as he follows his grandfathers footsteps.
